Criteria: Robustness. A rugged, tough design that could operate all day without problems.
3. Most Photogenic Machine	West End
Criteria: Attractiveness. Strong visual appeal with a sense of style and flair.
4. Most Elegant Machine	McFadden
Criteria: Excellent style and appearance with equally fine design features.
5. Best Spirit and Sportsmanship	McFadden
Criteria: Strong team spirit and equally strong in sportsmanship and fair play.
6. Best T-Shirt Design	West End
Criteria: Team T-shirt is attractive, imaginative, and well represents the BEST program and their team.
7. Best Mascot	Oak Ridge
Criteria: Best school mascot character. The award should consider the spirit and support of the mascot during the competition as well as its visual appeal.
8. Best Costume	Blackman
Criteria: Best costume worn by a BEST team member. Costume can be worn by a single team member, by some, or by all of the team members. Emphasis is on creativity and the way in which the costume supports the BEST program.
9. Blood, Sweat, and Duct Tape Award	MLK
Criteria: Persistence and never-say-die attitude in bringing a robot back to life after wear, tear, and friction have done their best.
